How SatPocket protects your wallet

SatPocket keeps your recovery phrase and private keys on your phone, encrypted and behind a passcode. Here is what it protects, what it connects to, and what stays up to you.

What stays on your phone, and what connects

SatPocket is a self-custody wallet with no account. It uses public services to read balances and send transactions. SatPocket never sends your recovery phrase or private keys anywhere.

On your phone

Your keys and wallet data

  • Your recovery phrase and private keys
  • Signing every transaction you approve
  • Encrypted wallet data, such as names and your address book
  • Unlocking with your 6-digit passcode
Public services

Reading the blockchain

  • Looking up balances, activity and tokens
  • Broadcasting the transactions you approve
  • Checking confirmation status
  • Approximate BSV prices in USD and EUR

What these services receive is described in the Privacy Policy.

Layers that protect the app

These reduce risk, but no phone, app or service is completely secure.

Encrypted on your phone

Your recovery phrase, private keys and wallet data are stored encrypted on your phone.

6-digit passcode

The app locks itself after the time you choose, and repeated wrong passcodes make you wait. The passcode doesn't replace your recovery phrase.

Screenshot protection

Screenshots are always blocked while your recovery phrase is shown.

Privacy controls

Hide balances when others are around. Hide wallet preview hides the app in the app switcher and blocks screenshots.

Protect your recovery phrase

The recovery phrase is the only way to restore your wallet, including after a forgotten passcode. SatPocket can't recover a lost phrase, freeze funds or reverse a transaction.

Support will never ask for your secrets.Never share your recovery phrase, private keys or passcode, or include them in screenshots or messages. Treat anyone who asks for them as a scammer.

How to back up your recovery phrase
01

Keep an offline backup

Write down every word in order and store it somewhere private and safe.

02

Secure your phone

Use a strong screen lock, keep Android updated, and install only apps and keyboards you trust.

03

Handle copies carefully

A copied or downloaded recovery phrase sits outside SatPocket's encrypted storage, where other apps or cloud backups may see it.

04

Check every payment

Check the address, amount and fees before you approve. BSV transactions are public and generally can't be reversed.

05

Know the remaining risks

Phishing, fake apps, malware, replaced addresses, a compromised phone, unsafe backups and simple mistakes can still cause losses. The services SatPocket connects to can be slow or unavailable, and SatPocket can't guarantee they always work.
