What are BSV-21 tokens?

BSV-21 is a standard for fungible tokens on the BSV blockchain, from the 1Sat Ordinals protocol. Each token is identified by its token ID, which points to the transaction that created it.

A token's name, symbol and icon are not unique: anyone can create a token with any name. The token ID is what tells two tokens apart.

How SatPocket handles your tokens

Receive

Tokens arrive at your normal SatPocket receiving addresses. Open a token and tap Receive to show its QR code or address.

Verified first

A new token appears in your list once its details, such as its name and symbol, are verified.

Your review

SatPocket asks whether you recognize a new token. Keep it, or hide it with one tap.

Pin or hide

Pin favorites to the top of your list. Manage token list lets you search by symbol or token ID and show or hide any token.

Every fee shown first

Before a token send, SatPocket shows the amount, the recipient and every fee. Fees are paid in BSV, so keep some BSV in your wallet.

  • The BSV network fee, paid to miners
  • A 100-satoshi SatPocket service fee per send
  • A token indexing fee, when the token service requires one

If the token service reports a token as inactive, it can't be sent. The token's info page shows its service status and funding details.

How to send BSV-21 tokens

Check the token ID

Copied names, misleading details and spam tokens exist. Before you send or accept a token as payment, compare its token ID with one you trust. The token ID is on each token's screen.

Showing a token is not an endorsement.SatPocket doesn't vouch for any token or its value.

What SatPocket doesn't do with tokens

  • No token trading or swaps
  • No minting or burning tokens
  • No BSV-20 ticker tokens, NFTs or ordinal collectibles
  • No USD or EUR values for tokens
  • Payment requests for a specific amount are for BSV only

BSV-21 tokens in SatPocket

Do I need BSV to send BSV-21 tokens?

Yes. A token send pays all its fees in BSV: the network fee, the SatPocket service fee and, when the token service requires one, a token indexing fee. Keep some BSV in your wallet.

Why don't I see a token I received?

New tokens appear once their details are verified, which can take a little while. If you answered No when SatPocket asked whether you recognize a token, it is hidden: open Manage token list to show it again.

Does SatPocket show token prices?

No. SatPocket shows USD or EUR values for BSV only. Tokens are shown in their own units, and SatPocket does not offer token trading or swaps.
